The last few weeks have been a blur of brunches, lunches and dinners eaten out in celebration of this lovely weather we've been having. I'm not one to document everrryy dish I eat, but these few were especially yummy. And okay, okay, it's not clothing related but the high I get from shopping is matched by my happy radar when I eat. All of these places are on my summer rotation.. let the drooling begin.

Location: Maywood Pancake House

I never thought I would eat pancakes again as a vegan, because fluffy tasty ones are hard to find. I beg my family every few weeks to go with me here and continually crave all of their food. They are a regular diner with an extensive vegan menu. The first time I went I was told I had never looked so happy- and it's true! Good vegan breakfast food does wonders for a girl's complexion.

Location: Beyond Sushi

My go-to lunch spot when I worked across the street, Beyond Sushi is a healthy vegan's dream. I typically devour the Nutty Buddy wrap (only $5!), but that day I splurged on The Haricat roll with black rice, avocado and mango. All of their edible delicacies are made from raw vegetables, so it's basically like eating a rainbow.

Banana French Toast

Location: Sacred Chow

Good thing I didn't come here for breakfast because I would have been annoyed. I went around 4pm for a mid-day snack but they were still serving breakfast, so I ordered their French toast which tasted like straight up cake. While there's nothing wrong with cake and plenty of people eat it for breakfast (if you live and die by Kate Spade) it's not what I was expecting. It was delicious nonetheless and proved to be an excellent lunch the next day (because who can finish that??) but I'd stick to dinner or real dessert here.

Tempeh Maple Mustard sandwich

Location: Cinnamon Snail

I stalk the food truck like every other comfort food craving vegan. Luckily, I had time to stop by their truck in Bushwick outside of the Pine Box Rock Shop. The Tempeh Maple Mustard sandwich has to be the best I've had from them thus far. I don't like kale unless it's in the form of chips, a well cheesed side or hidden in my food. This wasn't exactly hidden, but I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this 'wich.

Vegan chocolate ice-cream cone

Vegan chocolate ice-cream cone

Location: Van Leeuwen

I never fail to stop in my tracks when I walk by a Van Leeuwen ice-cream truck, because VEGAN ICE-CREAM! On a cone! For $6, it's kind of pricey but always worth the satisfaction gained when I can enjoy a normal cone like everyone else. Serving mostly dairy ice-cream, they have lots of vegan ice-cream options too like mint chocolate-chip, coffee, and banana nut.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention one of my favorite spots for everything vegan- The Green Bean Cafe! With just enough room inside to munch at a small table, it's a well hidden vegan mecca full of sandwiches, smoothies, baked goods and raw treats. My go to is their cheeseburger because whatever sauce they use is ahmazing.

Needless to say it's dining out season! If you find yourself in New York and could use a buddy (nutty or not), you know where to find me!

I like pink things and glittery things and twirling things. I like them even better if they sing and wear a ring.
